After years of chronic muscle pain brought on by joint hypermobility, poor posture/alignment, lack of core stability and stress, Sharon found relief, hope and strength through one-on-one, rehabilitation-minded Pilates and movement sessions taught by Kane School-trained master instructor Jennifer Whittemore of Brooklyn, NY and then Marcy Schaffler of Madison, NJ.

Sharon went on train towards her comprehensive contemporary Pilates certification through Schaffler’s Mind Over Movement, a Balanced Body host training site, as well as Movements Afoot‘s Lesley Powell in New York, NY.

In addition to her Pilates training, Sharon adds elements of other important movement modalities into her group classes and private sessions, including Feldenkrais, Franklin Method, Yoga, Hanna Somatics and Bartenieff Fundamentals.

Sharon has worked with clients who have special challenges ranging from osteoporosis and back pain to pelvic floor issues, as well as those seeking to improve fitness, increase performance and reduce stress.

Sharon is also a freelance writer who has written about health and wellness for such top magazines as Health, Self, Marie Claire, Body + Soul and Yoga Journal.  And, she’s a singer-songwriter who has recorded several CDs , performs regularly at small clubs and coffeehouses, and hosts a popular blog about songwriting, SongwritingScene.
